For Antonin, the zebra symbolizes true wilderness as it is the only equid that man cannot domesticate. lt is distinguished from the animals of the savannah by its stripes which, themselves paradoxically allow it to be invisible and blend in with the mass. In psychology, being a zebra means having an atypical personality, a different way of thinking and reacting. With Zèbre, Antonin proposes that we all have something of the zebra within us. Like the stripes unique to each animal, we are all unique and often full of paradoxes.

Zèbre is the third installment in a series of portraits for female performers featuring Brandon (Paravaneh Scharafali, 2018) and Gömböc (Ema Yuasa, 2020) and motivated by Antonin's fascination with the complexity of human behavior. With Zèbre, Antonin offers a piece at the meeting of genres that includes elements of his other centers of creative interests, such as musical composition and visuals.

Zèbre” is produced by Korzo & Netherlands Dance Theater.
